One of the newest businesses to open in the Pepper District is Crank and Boom. They make local, craft ice cream, coffee and sweets. This is a great place for an after dinner date or even a large group of friends, as they have a large space upstairs with many tables and even a selfie booth!
Crank and Boom started in Thai Orchid Restaurant by Toa Green. She started making small batches of ice cream to serve as dessert and the delicious treat quickly caught on. Then, Thai and Mighty food truck came along and Crank and Boom was sold ‘on the streets.’ With such popularity and love in Lexington, they opened a brick and mortar on the Pepper Campus.
A beautiful building with brick walls and large windows, Crank and Boom offers a wide variety of delicious flavors, including Kentucky Blackberry and Buttermilk, Salted Caramel, and their most popular, Bourbon & Honey. They also have homemade sweets and coffee.
Crank and Boom is a wonderful place to come if you are in the Pepper District!
